Becoming a nurse injector

  1. Hold the right license

Injectors are usually RNs, NPs, PAs or physicians. LPNs, medical assistants and estheticians are limited in most states.

  2. Build clinical experience

Most med spas hire nurses with hospital or clinic experience, often in dermatology, plastics or critical care.

  3. Train with hands-on practice

A course covers anatomy, products and complications, with supervised injections on real patients.

  4. Learn your state's rules

Who examines the patient first and who supervises you depends on the state. Start with your state guide.
